The size if great for office supplies. You can fit some bins in the drawers to organize things like pens. The unit is sturdy. The sectioned area on top is great for things you want to access often. The wheels move easily on carpet (I don't know about shag) and it stays in place. I cannot comment on staying in place on a floor but can tell you the wheels do not lock. The biggest downsize, and why I gave it only 4 stars, is the drawers do not open all the way and can't be removed.I keep this unit in my children's closet to store Lego bricks. The tray on the top is especially useful; the kids do not always put the pieces away and this keeps them from falling into the laundry. The drawers do not easily slide out though they can be removed; I consider that a plus because the Legos are less likely to be accidentally dumped. As far as durability, we have four boys and it has held together just fine. However, we keep it one place-- I'm not sure it would hold up well to frequent movement. The coaster wheels are solid and stay put properly. (We have a similar Sterlite brand storage cart and the coaster wheels kept falling out; the drawers slid out.) It's plastic and not pretty, but it does the job well.I needed a way to store my 5-year-old son's Legos, and this is perfect. We organized the Lego pieces by color and put some labels on the front, and now my son can easily locate the pieces he needs--so much better than me having to sort through boxes of Legos for a tiny piece that takes 5 minutes to find.It's hard to tell from the photo, but the top is not flat. There are actually ridges that form shallow compartments, which you can also use for additional sorting.I really like the clear drawers and especially the top organizer. At first when I saw the organized slots on top of it I thought it would be annoying and I would never use it. But its been great, almost like an extra drawer for me to sort things!! The drawers fits all the makeup and cosmetics products I needed it for.It got here quick, but my only complaint is that it came damaged, the bottom is chipped. Doesn't effect the use of it but I tried crazy glue, hot glue gun, and tape and doesn't fix the chip. Guess I'll just live with it, I don't feel like the hassle of sending it back. Just hope I don't cut myself on it.Simple to just pop the wheels on the bottom and use. While I'd prefer one deeper drawer at the bottom, it still fits just about everything we need and I like the organizational tray on top. We bought this to roll in and out of the pantry for easy clean up and organizing arts and crafts and it certainly fits the bill.perfect for my kids' school week outfits. The drawers are a little shallow, but their clothes are kind of small (for now) so it's okay for now.Got this to help organize all the Legos my son was getting. These drawers are the ones that pull out and travel like other Lego carrying cases or clear cases, but they do pull out far and stay put like a normal drawer. Been searching and pricing for a 6 drawer organizer and I am happy with this purchase. I believe this was cheaper because it didn't have the travel drawers, but that's fine I didn't need that feature.While this storage cart is exactly as represented, it seems flimsy and overpriced for what it is. Any drawers that are empty will fly open if you roll the cart. The compartmentalized top is very handy for storing small art supplies, and the cart is a convenient height for sliding under a working table when floor space is limited.
