This is a nicely made piece of furniture. It came in 3 boxes and was very well packed, arrived in perfect condition. The slate top was boxed with styrofoam inside and out, then crated with wood. The instructions were clear and the finished product is beautiful. However. There was one pretty time consuming snag in the assembly and that was, of course, the last step. The drawer.There’s a block of wood that runs vertically to the side boards that is supposed to run just above the groove for the bottom of the shelf. One side was great, the other, was not in the right spot for one side, and came down halfway over the groove making it impossible to slide the bottom in. We had to cut and saw about and 1/8” off the block to make it work. This is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. I included pictures of the good side and the side we had to cut.It did take 3 full hours to put this together. It probably took half an hour just to unbox it all. I could have done it by myself, but It would have taken a lot longer and it’s definitely easier to have two people.Product was not terrible to assemble. It looks beautiful when put together however it’s very wobbly. I made sure to tighten all the hardware that was used. Seems like it needs a stabilizing bar that goes across from one end to the next.I ordered this through Amazon the first time I only received the stainless steel top. The second time (today) I only received the top (again) and the legs. I loved the picture that is posted on Amazon BUT now I just have to cancel the order and get a refund. This is already a month I have been waiting for this item. I did read all the reviews and it seemed good and sturdy but now I have to cancel. Now I have to go elsewhere for my Island.We purchased this to hold our microwave at the end of our kitchen counter which is also granite. We were impressed at how carefully the pieces were packaged. Assembly went okay for the most part, but one of the holes used to attach the top was slightly out of alignment which made it difficult to attach. That annoying, but ultimately workable, problem during assembly is the only reason I didn't score this as a 5. We are happy with the end product. The finish and the table top were all in perfect condition, so the piece does look nice.It shipped with casters, which we're happy to have just in case, but we are using the feet, so that it stands almost exactly the same height as our counters making it a nice looking and functional extension of our counter space. You also have the option to install one, two, or no towel racks. We installed one. The drawer and door hardware all function properly.I added an image to show what the surface looks like under our metallic microwave oven.This is really a nice piece. We were having new granite countertops installed and ordered a section to match this size. The cherry matches our cabinets very well and the counters perfectly so it truly looks custom.Some people said it was not very sturdy so I glued every screw and cam bolt during assembly. Between that and the 70 lb. granite, it is solid.I changed the knobs and made a table out of the black granite that came with it. It was a little extra work but the end result was well worthwhile.This is a solid piece that came with both stationary legs and casters, providing options. The finish is excellent and looks like it will hold up for many years. I purchased the black so that it blended with my black and stainless appliances and didn't clash with my light wood cabinets. Storage inside is ample with one removable shelf. The drawer is good sized and will hold utensils nicely. The bottom of the drawer doesn't seem to be strong enough to be durable, so I elected not to put my very heavy flatware in it. It arrived well packed (3 boxes) with all the pieces nicely labeled so assembly was easy. It took about 1.5 hours to assemble. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is that the back, though looks nice, is flimsy board and it has a slight sway from side to side. All in all, I do recommend.Looks.lime the picture.
